About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The High Speed Gear Polymer Single Mini Pistol Taco Mag Pouch is a tactical pouch. Many tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop style attachments. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last few years due to tactical developments and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top option for securing military design pouches to gear, airsoft vests, deployment bags, and other types of military equipment. MOLLE straps offer a unique way for users to pick the mounting place and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel area. The only restriction ends up being which pouches to employ and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are put to use in the MOLLE equipment system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s look at some of the most effective MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft gear beginning with airsoft gun magazine pouches.

Types of High Speed Gear MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are necessary to have on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty standard in design. They are one of the original designs of pouches developed to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is normally fastened with Velcro. The flap could include a plastic side-release buckle depending upon pouch style. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and among the most inexpensive methods to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the basic mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch design removes the flap leaving an open top to place and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most innovative type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are developed into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine firmly under pressure. In order to make mag accessibility easier and mag swaps faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE accessories so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch parts are normally made from ABS construction.
The High Speed Gear brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use differing kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the tension straps safely hold the magazines so you don’t have to worry about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
High Speed Gear MOLLE Airsoft Gun Handgun Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches can be found in related designs to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which can be found in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a couple of standard pistol pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines very well with this durable Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most frequently chosen versions of pistol pouches. Most of the same companies that make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the same design. This includes manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch designs are outstanding quality, usable, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch including both a rifle and pistol magazine. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over purchasing all 6 separately (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) make a spot for you to discard empty mags and other things into during gunfights. Some dump pouches even have drawstring closure tops for additional security while moving on the run with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK stands for individual first aid kit and consists of the equipment airsoft players need when they need to patch up a cut or wound on the field. A first aid pack must include the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create a place for carrying tools, folded maps, pens, and other field supplies. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else generally. You can carry things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own specific pouch), and other gear you may need on the airsoft field or tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Lots of airsoft teams manage communications and radios equipment in the field. Applying a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and family band radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
