Green Gas TSD Caspian Arms Tactical 7.0 Dragon Pistol FPS-440 Full Metal Blowback Airsoft Gun Package Deal (Mask, Green Gas and BBs)
Airsoft Pistol Product Features
This is a Green Gas Airsoft Pistol which means that it uses Green Gas as a propellant. It shoots hard and fast and is extremely lifelike. One feature many Green Gas Airsoft Guns have is blowback, meaning that as the BB is propelled forward the slide thrusts backward mimicking the kick of a real gun! This Green Gas Airsoft Pistol doesn’t require any pumping just simply point and shoot. This is a high end Green Gas Airsoft gun. Please only use .20 gram high quality BBs with this item in order to keep it in working order. Using anything else as ammunition for this gun will void the warranty and may cause it to jam. You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase this Airsoft gun. You will need to purchase Green Gas for this gun separately.
How to Choose an Airsoft Pistol
Learn more about airsoft guns like pistols and how you can use them as backup guns or as primary weapons on the airsoft playing field. Practicing your accuracy and getting the best pistol can make an impact in blasting your shots. Pistols, naturally, are shorter range airsoft weapons. They are commonly crafted after real pistols or replications of genuine pistols. Numerous airsoft handguns are completely certified variations of their actual pistol equivalents. These airsoft guns can visually look and function (without shooting bullets) in the same ways identical to the real guns they are designed after while blasting airsoft BBs as opposed to actual bullets.
There are a variety of airsoft pistols including CO2, green gas or propane (blowback and non-blowback), spring powered, and AEG automatic electric gun handguns. Each of these types of sidearms has positives and negatives connected with them. Learning more about the kinds of airsoft sidearms helps you choose which type is right for you and your airsoft play style.
CO2 Airsoft Handgun Details
CO2 airsoft handguns are one of the most common and resilient kinds of handguns. They are all-season, all-weather pistols and work well in many kinds of weather, varying temperatures, and climates. These handguns use high pressure CO2 gas to propel airsoft BBs down the handgun barrel. The CO2 cartridge stores the gas and is typically held in the pistol’s handle.
These styles of airsoft guns are good choices for playing in cold and snowy weather conditions because the high pressure CO2 gas is less sensitive to performance variations caused by temperature. This fact offers good FPS and shot consistency while playing airsoft in the winter months for example where other kinds of airsoft pistols like green gas stuffer from low performance or hardly shoot airsoft BBs.
Info About CO2 Gas and CO2 Cartridges
CO2 airsoft sidearms are powered by basic 12 gram CO2 cartridges. These cartridges resemble a chrome metal cylinder and hold high-pressure CO2 gas composed of 1 carbon atom and 2 oxygen atoms, hence the molecular formula comes out to be “C + O2 “. These atoms are bound in the following sequence “O= C =O”. The gas is stored in the 12 gram cylinders under extremely high pressure of about ~ 800psi that correlates to 55bar.
The cartridges come sealed to keep the CO2 gas safely within, but as soon as they are opened (firing them in an airsoft gun breaks the cartridge seal) they will start to lose pressure if they are left unused. If the airsoft games end and you still have CO2 gas left, use the opportunity to do some handgun target practice and use up the rest of the extra gas.
CO2 cartridges can be stored for a while if they are kept sealed. They are made with a maker’s use by date typically listed on the package or cylinder, but they will probably stay pressurized for a long period of time past this date if the cartridge seal is not punctured.
Info About Green Gas Airsoft Pistols
Green gas airsoft pistols are comparable to CO2 handguns, but they use green gas or propane instead of CO2 cartridges. The impact on the airsoft battlefield and green gas weapon efficiency is virtually the exact same as CO2 pistols with the guns at about 300+ FPS.
The green gas is stashed in the handgun’s airsoft mag that can typically hold between 15 to 20+ BBs depending on the handgun type. A series of valves, rubberized gaskets, and silicone o-rings keep the gas pressurized in the magazine till the pistol’s trigger is squeezed.
When carrying a green gas handgun on the airsoft field as a primary or secondary weapon, extra handgun mags are strongly recommended for quickly reloading. Having additional magazines allows you to re-engage in the action in the course of firefights or while clearing buildings in CQB (close quarters combat) room-to-room combat.
Green gas handguns are optimal for CQB at airsoft fields considering that rifles and full-sized AEGs are generally not enabled to be used for indoor shooting. This is a safety standard because of the close range distance of airsoft players during shooting engagements and the potential for players to be injured. While green gas handguns can still fire airsoft BBs at about 300 FPS, the shorter pistol barrel aids to keep the joules and energy forcing the BB lower compared to AEGs, airsoft rifles, sniper rifles, and other long guns.
About Green Gas Blowback (GBB) VS Green Gas Non-blowback
There are 2 various types of green gas airsoft pistols. There are green gas blowback pistols or GBBs where the slide moves and non-blowback pistols. The green gas non-blowback airsoft pistols use a stationary slide which does not move.
About GBB and Green Gas Limits
While green gas generally works very well on the airsoft field, it does have constraints. This includes when green gas guns are used during the winter airsoft games in the snow or in colder weather (like under 32 deg F). Considering that the green gas or propane is held in the weapon’s mag by rubber seals, o-rings, and gaskets, low temperatures can negatively affect the seals and trigger the gas to escape prior to firing the handgun. The decrease in pressure can cause the airsoft BBs to just shoot a few feet (like 10 feet in the cold ) when it would normally shoot BBs over 100+ foot ranges in warmer temperatures).
One option to this problem is to keep the GBB pistol magazines warmer by holding them next to your body or near a heat source before the airsoft game play. If you absolutely desire to play with a trustworthy airsoft handgun in the cold, it may also be worth getting a CO2 version of your favorite handgun.
Details About Spring Airsoft Handguns
Spring airsoft pistols are powered by powerful springs with irregular pitches that propel the BBs out of the gun’s barrel. The manual action of reloading, shooting, and cocking spring guns makes the fire rate much slower than CO2, green gas, and GBB handguns.
Spring airsoft guns work most effectively in springer wars where players can solely use similar, single shot spring weapons or as an alternative weapon for CQB settings when you can often sneak up to other airsoft players to get an assured one-shot-one-kill. In the latter situation, a fast second followup shot is not needed because the other person is now hit and out of the gameplay or heading back to respawn. When engaging a number of players considering that the springer simply shoots as quick as you can re-chamber an airsoft BB manually, be careful.
About Spring Pistol Performance
Spring handguns are really reliable under the most ideal situations. Spring pistols can commonly fire up to 120 feet or more with 0.12g BBs but target accuracy reduces quickly.
AEG Automatic Electric Airsoft Pistols
AEG airsoft pistols or AEPs (automatic electric pistols) are also a viable option to bring into the field as a secondary weapon on the airsoft field. These automatic electric pistols are often powered by mini stick batteries in the gun’s butt. They operate just like an AEG rifle and use pressured air forced through electrically cycled gearboxes and cylinders to shoot airsoft BBs quickly and very quickly at that.
AEG pistol magazines usually carry around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs. The pistols can shoot airsoft BBs up to around 300 FPS using 0.12 gram airsoft BBs or about 200 to 250 FPS using 0.20g airsoft BBs. The electrical gearbox system can shoot around 700+ BBs per minute which is estimated if you have enough spare mags to reload (after every 20 to 30 rounds) and the battery holds out that long. These handguns can accurately shoot airsoft BBs at around 150 foot ranges.
AEG Handgun Quality and Performance
AEG pistol quality has increased considerably over the last few years. The early gen guns were a little bit sketchy and unreliable, however the new models have the bugs resolved and make reliable airsoft secondary weapons. They can be modded with increased magazine capacities together with accommodating bigger batteries.
A significant benefit of buying an AEG handgun is that you have the ability to rewire the wires to use an increased capacity battery with longer life. Depending on the AEG handgun model, you can get a sizable output in performance and fire rate using a 2 cell Lipo battery (like an 2S Lipo) as opposed to the stock mini battery. Beware of modifying the elements and wires because you need to take into consideration the voltages, mAh, and loads of the battery. Ask a qualified weapon tech at your nearest airsoft store or shop if you have customization issues.
What Airsoft Handgun is Best for Me to Play with?
Choosing the right airsoft handgun for you depends upon how much you want to spend, how much you want to play airsoft with it, and where you plan to play. Look at a green gas blowback pistol or AEP handgun if you have over $100 to spend on your airsoft pistol. These kinds of guns are normally the best of the best, have the greatest build qualities, and are usually a pretty good gun to get. Take a look at a CO2 handgun or less expensive GBB pistol if you have between more than $50 but less than $100 to put towards an airsoft gun purchase. These mid-tier guns will still finish the job and will be pretty tough sidearms. Look for a lower end CO2 or spring pistol if you have $50 or less. You can still buy a long lasting airsoft pistol to use for the handgun airsoft guns.
