About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Gonex Upgraded MOLLE Water Bottle Pouch, Tactical Military Bottle Holder Hydration Carrier Mesh Bottom with Belt for Backpack Camping Travel Outdoor Activities is a tactical pouch. Many tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design accessories. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last several years due to tactical developments and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top choice for securing military design pouches to military gear, airsoft vests, range bags, and other types of equipment. MOLLE straps provide a unique way for users to pick the mounting area and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location. The only constraint becomes which pouches to utilize and where to place them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are applied in the MOLLE equipment system. Here are the three parts of the installing system: MOLLE straps, panels, and pouches. Mounting tactical pouches is simple and quick. Merely thread the straps and snap the buttons to set them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how the gear system works, let’s take a look at some of the most functional MOLLE pouches you can attach to your airsoft gear starting with airsoft weapon mag pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in many various colors and camouflage patterns.
About the Gonex Brand
The Gonex brand is fairly well-known as a quality gear manufacturer. They manufacture excellent quality airsoft equipment and other products. You can find answers on the brand’s website if you have concerns about their airsoft pouches or consumer service questions.
Types of Gonex MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are necessary to have on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft gun rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty basic in style. They are among the original styles of pouches designed to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is usually fastened with Velcro. The flap could feature a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch design. In addition to being available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and among the most inexpensive ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the basic mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch design removes the flap leaving an open top to place and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most innovative type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are constructed into the magazine pocket so that it holds the magazine tightly under tension. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and reloads faster than ever before, this style of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE accessories so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch components are normally made from ABS construction.
The Gonex brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized tension bands (depending upon producer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you don’t need to be concerned about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Gonex MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches come in related styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which are available in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this durable Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most typically found variations of pistol pouches. Many of the same manufacturers that make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same design. This consists of manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch styles are outstanding quality, usable, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. Two is usually far better than one. This pouch proves this to be accurate since it saves you money from needing to purchase two pouches. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all six individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never ever buy pouches one at a time when you can get them together.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a mag collection pouches) make a spot for you to place empty magazines and other things into rapidly. These tactical pouches are normally held in a rolled up position and secured by a snap or strap. The pouch can be rapidly unrolled to expand in size and hold empty magazines after reloads, extra airsoft BBs/shells, and other gear while on the field. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for extra closure security while moving with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK is an acronym for individual first aid kit and contains the equipment airsoft players need when they need to patch up a cut or wound on the field. A first aid kit needs to include the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, a number of sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make room for carrying a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field supplies. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else generally. You can carry things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own unique pouch), and other equipment you may need on the airsoft field or in a tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft units manage communications and radios devices on the field. Adopting a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
