About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The AOCK Tactical Molle Water Bottle Pouch for Outdoor Travel Activities Military Camping Hiking Bag Outdoor Bag is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop style accessories. MOLLE pouches have just recently become popular in the last few years due to tactical innovations and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top option for securing military design pouches to gear, vests, deployment bags, and other kinds of military equipment. MOLLE straps provide a flexible method for users to select the mounting area and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location. The only limitation becomes which pouches to utilize and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are applied in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s look at some of the top MOLLE pouches you can add to your airsoft gear starting with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches are available in all colors and camouflage patterns. Common pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Common pouch camouflage patterns include: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Take a look at the example swatches below for what they appear like:

Types of AOCK MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are essential to carry on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other kinds of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty standard in design. They are among the original styles of pouches developed to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is usually attached with Velcro. The flap could feature a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch design. In addition to being available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most budget-friendly methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches resemble the standard mag pouches with a couple of enhancements. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch style eliminates the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines. This allows for quiet access and increased speed while accessing or reloading weapon pouches. These mag pouches can come in single or triple magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most sophisticated kind of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are developed into the magazine pocket so that it holds the magazine securely under pressure. In order to make mag access simpler and mag reloads faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE accessories so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch parts are typically made of ABS construction.
The AOCK brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cords or rubberized stress bands (depending on producer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the tension straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t have to be concerned about losing the mag during quick motions, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
AOCK MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches come in related designs to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several basic handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this durable Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most typically seen variations of pistol pouches. Most of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the exact same design. This includes manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch styles are excellent quality, usable, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. A pair of magazines are generally much better than one. This pouch proves this to be true since it saves you cash from needing to buy two pouches. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all 6 individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never purchase pouches separately which you can get them as a group.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) make an area for you to ditch empty mags and other things into rapidly. Some dump pouches also have drawstring closure tops for additional security while on the run with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK means individual first aid kit and contains the medical gear airsoft players require when they have to patch up a gash or wound on the field. A first aid kit should contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, a number of sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create space for holding tools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field gear. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else usually. Think extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own unique pouch), and other gear you may need on the airsoft field or tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Lots of airsoft organizations talk on radios and communications equipment in the field. Running a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
