About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The AegisTac Tactical Chest Rig Bag Recon Kit Bags Combat Chest Pack Radio Chest Harness Molle Vest Bags Front Pouch Tool Pouch EDC Carry Pouch is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches connect with MOLLE webbing straps and hook-and-loop style attachments. MOLLE straps provide a flexible method for users to select the installation location and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are adopted in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out some of the most effective MOLLE pouches you can add to your airsoft equipment beginning with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in all colors and camouflage patterns. Typical pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Common pouch camouflage patterns consist of: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Have a look at the example swatches in the product description for what they look like:

Kinds Of AegisTac MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are necessary to have on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other kinds of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty basic in style. They are one of the original designs of pouches developed to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is usually fastened with Velcro. The flap could feature a plastic side-release buckle depending upon pouch design. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and among the most cost effective ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the standard mag pouches with a few differences. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch design removes the flap leaving an open top to insert and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most innovative type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility easier and reloads faster than ever, this design of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE attachments so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The AegisTac brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag design use differing kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t have to be concerned about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
AegisTac MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Handgun Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches are available in related styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which are available in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several standard pistol pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most commonly chosen variations of handgun pouches. A lot of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the exact same style. This consists of manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch designs are exceptional quality, functional, and are duplicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch including both a rifle and handgun magazine. A pair of mags are usually much better than one. This pouch shows this to be accurate because it saves you money from needing to buy a pair of pouches. For instance, the cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all 6 independently (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never ever buy pouches separately when you can get them together.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) make a spot for you to discard empty magazines and other gear into during fights. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for extra security while moving on the run with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK is an acronym meaning individual first aid kit and contains the medical gear airsoft players need when they need to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. An emergency treatment pack must contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, a number of sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create a place for carrying tools, folded maps, pens, and other field items. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else normally. Think of things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own unique pouch), and other gear you may need on the airsoft field or tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Many airsoft groups manage communications and radios equipment in the field. Running a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and portable radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
