Airsoft Weapon Mags
These magazines usually connect to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft weapon mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft gun magazines are manufactured in a couple of kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These kinds frequently involve AEG mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the total of airsoft BBs a real gun would hold in ammunition, which is normally around 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, permit more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, provide airsoft players the most storage with around 200 rounds of BB storage volume. Something to note about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields frequently restrict their usage because they allow players shooting an excessive amount of ammunition to spray-and-pray during games.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are normally loaded into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring producing stress. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. HPA, CO2, and GBB guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically keep the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns work. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s magazine well.
Did You Know?
Some airsoft AEGs and light machine guns, or LMGs, use high-cap drum magazines. They can hold up to 1000s of BBs and provide fire support for a unit or fireteam during battlefield engagements.
Information on Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by weapon design and usable between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own customized design depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the mags typically include builtin gas tanks or are pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The magazines used in GBB weapons keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and allow the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Information on Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft pistol mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Most airsoft pistol magazines can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
