About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The Ydmpro Tactical Pouches – 900D Molle EDC Pouch Compact Multipurpose Utility Gadget Belt Waist Bag with Cell Phone Holster Holder, Shoulder Strap and Mini Carabiner is a tactical pouch. The majority of tactical pouches attach with MOLLE webbing straps and hook-and-loop style accessories. MOLLE straps provide a versatile way for users to choose the installation area and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE accessory panel area.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym meaning Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are managed in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the three parts of the mounting system: MOLLE straps, panels, and pouches. Installing tactical pouches is quick and simple. Merely thread the straps and snap the buttons to set them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how the attachment system works, let’s check out some of the most functional MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft equipment starting with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in lots of different colors and camouflage patterns.
About the Ydmpro Brand
The Ydmpro brand is fairly widely known in the world of airsoft. They produce really good quality airsoft pouches and other gear. If you have questions about their gear or customer support inquiries, you can find more information on the brand’s website.
Types of Ydmpro MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are essential to have on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other kinds of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty basic in design. They are among the initial styles of pouches developed to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is normally fastened with Velcro. The flap might feature a plastic side-release buckle depending upon pouch style. In addition to being offered from many tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and among the most budget friendly ways to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the basic mag pouches with a few differences. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch design removes the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most innovative type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and clip reloads faster than ever, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE straps so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The Ydmpro brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag design use varying types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending on maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you do not need to be concerned about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Ydmpro MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches can be found in related styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a couple of basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this long lasting Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most commonly found versions of handgun pouches. Many of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the exact same style.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch including both a rifle and handgun magazine. A pair of mags are usually better than one. This pouch proves this to be accurate considering that it saves you cash from needing to purchase two separate pouches. For example, the cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over purchasing all six independently (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines). Never ever purchase pouches separately which you can get them as a group.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine collection pouches) create a spot for you to throw empty mags and other gear into quickly during battle. These tactical pouches are usually held in a rolled up position and secured by a snap or strap. The pouch can be rapidly unrolled to expand in size and hold empty magazines after you reload your weapon, extra airsoft BBs/shells, and other gear while on the airsoft field. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for added closure security while moving with a pouch full of empty handgun clips.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK is an acronym meaning individual first aid kit and consists of the equipment airsoft players need when they need to patch up a gash or wound on the field. An emergency treatment kit needs to include the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, a number of sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create room for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field gear. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else generally. Think of things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own unique pouch), and other equipment you might need on the airsoft field or tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Many airsoft organizations work with communications and radios devices in the field. Running a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
