About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The VooDoo Tactical 20-1223007000 Cell Phone Pouch, Coyote, LARGE is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design accessories. MOLLE pouches have just recently ended up being popular in the last few years due to tactical developments and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top option for securing military design pouches to equipment, tactical vests, range bags, and other kinds of field gear. MOLLE straps provide a flexible method for users to select the mounting location and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE accessory panel location. The only limitation ends up being which pouches to manage and where to place them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are used in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out some of the top MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft equipment beginning with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns

Kinds Of VooDoo Tactical MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ since they are pretty basic in style. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for extra security that is generally attached with Velcro. In addition to being readily available from many tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are resilient and one of the most economical ways to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the standard mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch design eliminates the flap leaving an open top to insert and take out magazines. This enables silent access and increased speed while accessing or swapping gun gear. These mag pouches can be found in single or triple magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most innovative type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are developed into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine tightly under pressure. In order to make mag access easier and reloads faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch components are usually made of ABS construction.
The VooDoo Tactical brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag design use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cords or rubberized stress bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps safely hold the magazines so you don’t need to be concerned about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
VooDoo Tactical MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches come in similar styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which can be found in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines very well with this resilient Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most typically found variations of handgun pouches. A number of the same companies that make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the same design. This consists of manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch designs are outstanding quality, usable, and are duplicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all 6 individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) create a space for you to discard empty magazines and other gear into during gunfights. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for extra security while on the run with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK stands for individual first aid kit and consists of the equipment airsoft players require when they need to patch up a cut or wound on the field. A first aid pack must include the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create a place for holding multitools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field items. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else usually. Think of things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own special pouch), and other equipment you might require on the airsoft field or tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft organizations carry communications and radios devices on the field. Using a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
