About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The Viper Express Utility Pouch Small Coyote is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have recently ended up being popular in the last several years due to tactical developments and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top choice for securing military design pouches to military gear, airsoft vests, range bags, and other kinds of field gear. MOLLE straps offer a unique method for users to pick the mounting area and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE accessory panel area. The only limitation becomes which pouches to manage and where to put them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and identifies the pouches, panels, and straps which are applied in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s look at some of the best MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft gear beginning with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in lots of various colors and camo patterns.

Types of VIPER MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty standard in style. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is usually fastened with Velcro. In addition to being readily available from many tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most inexpensive ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the basic mag pouches with a few modifications. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch design gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are developed into the magazine pocket so that it holds the magazine firmly under tension. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and reloads faster than ever before, this style of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE accessories so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch parts are generally made from ABS materials.
The VIPER brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use varying types of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending on producer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the tension straps firmly hold the magazines so you do not need to worry about losing the mag during quick motions, crawling, climbing up things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
VIPER MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Handgun Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches can be found in similar designs to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a couple of basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this long lasting Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most frequently used versions of pistol pouches. Many of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same design.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all six independently (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) create an area for you to throw empty mags and other gear into during fights. Some dump pouches even have drawstring closure tops for additional security while moving with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK represents individual first aid kit and contains the medical gear airsoft players require when they have to patch up a cut or injury on the field. A first aid pack should contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, a number of sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make space for holding a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, and other field supplies. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else normally. Think spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own separate pouch), and other equipment you may require on the airsoft field or in a tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft teams put to use radios and communications devices on the field. Applying a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
