About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The United States Tactical UST-MOL00402 Single Mag Pouch Coyote is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last several years due to tactical developments and inventions. They are the top choice for securing military design pouches to equipment, airsoft vests, deployment bags, and other kinds of military equipment. MOLLE straps offer a flexible way for users to select the mounting place and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE accessory panel location. The only limitation ends up being which pouches to employ and where to put them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are adopted in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the three parts of the mounting system: MOLLE straps, panels, and pouches. Mounting tactical pouches is easy and fast. Merely thread the straps and snap the buttons to secure them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how the attachment system works, let’s have a look at some of the most functional MOLLE pouches you can include in your airsoft gear starting with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in all colors and camouflage patterns. Common pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Common pouch camouflage patterns include: forest, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Kinds Of United States Tactical MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are usually called ‘standard’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are quite basic in style. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is normally fastened with Velcro. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are long lasting and one of the most cost effective methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the standard mag pouches with a couple of differences. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch style eliminates the flap leaving an open top to place and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most sophisticated type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility a lot easier and magazine swaps faster than ever, this design of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE connections so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The United States Tactical brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag design use differing kinds of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized bungee bands (depending on producer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you don’t have to think about losing the mag during quick motions, crawling, climbing up things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
United States Tactical MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Handgun Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches can be found in similar styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which are available in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a number of basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines effectively with this durable Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most typically found versions of handgun pouches. Many of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the exact same design.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all six individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) create a spot for you to discard empty mags and other gear into rapidly. Some dump pouches also have drawstring closure tops for additional security while on the run with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK is an acronym meaning individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players require when they need to patch up a cut or injury on the field. An emergency treatment kit should include the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create room for holding a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field gear. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else normally. You can carry things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own unique pouch), and other gear you may need on the airsoft field or in a tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Many airsoft teams employ communications and radios equipment in the field. Applying a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and portable radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
