About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The QJang Drawstring Water Bottle Pouch Holster Tactical Radio Holder Carrier Sports Pistol Magazine Case for Hunting Fishing Climbing is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last few years due to tactical innovations and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top choice for securing military design pouches to military gear, airsoft vests, range bags, and other types of military equipment. MOLLE straps provide a flexible way for users to choose the mounting location and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location. The only limitation becomes which pouches to apply and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are utilized in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out some of the leading MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft gear starting with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches are available in all colors and camo patterns. Typical pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Typical pouch camouflage patterns include: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Take a look at the example swatches below for what they look like:
About the QJang Brand
The QJang brand is pretty popular in the world of airsoft. They create good quality airsoft pouches and other gear. If you have questions about their pouches or customer inquiries, you can find answers on the brand’s business website.
Kinds Of QJang MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are necessary to have on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are also called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ since they are pretty standard in design. They are one of the initial styles of pouches created to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is generally secured with Velcro. The flap might include a plastic side-release buckle depending upon pouch design. In addition to being offered from many tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and among the most budget-friendly methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the standard mag pouches with a couple of modifications. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch design eliminates the flap leaving an open top to put in and remove magazines. This allows quiet access and increased speed while reloading guns or accessing equipment. These mag pouches can be available in single or triple magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility easier and reloads faster than ever, this style of tactical pouch uses MOLLE attachments so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The QJang brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use differing kinds of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cords or rubberized bungee bands (depending upon producer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps securely hold the magazines so you don’t need to worry about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing over things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
QJang MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches are available in similar styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which come in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most commonly used versions of pistol pouches. Many of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the exact same design.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch including both a rifle and handgun magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all 6 separately (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a clip retrieval pouches) create a spot for you to dump empty mags and other gear into quickly during battle. These tactical pouches are normally carried in a rolled up position and secured by a button or strap. The pouch can be quickly unrolled to increase in size and hold empty clips after reloads, additional airsoft BBs/shells, and other equipment while in the airsoft field. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for extra security while moving with a pouch full of empty magazines.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK means individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players need when they need to patch up a gash or wound on the field. A first aid pack needs to contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, a number of sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create room for holding a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, and other field supplies. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else usually. Think extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own specific pouch), and other equipment you may need on the airsoft field or in a tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft organizations manage communications and radios devices on the field. Using a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
