Types of PatiosGuard MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are essential to carry on your gear for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty standard in design. They are among the initial designs of pouches developed to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is usually fastened with Velcro. The flap might feature a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch style. In addition to being available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most inexpensive methods to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the basic mag pouches with a few adjustments. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch style gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to insert and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag access a lot easier and magazine reloads faster than before, this style of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The PatiosGuard brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use varying types of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized tension bands (depending upon maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the tension straps safely hold the magazines so you do not need to think about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
PatiosGuard MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches are available in related styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a number of basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this durable Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most commonly used variations of pistol pouches. Many of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the exact same design.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all six separately (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) create an area for you to dump empty mags and other gear into during gunfights. Some dump pouches even have drawstring closure tops for extra security while moving on the run with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK represents individual first aid kit and contains the medical gear airsoft players need when they have to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. A first aid kit needs to contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make a place for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field items. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else normally. Think of things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own unique pouch), and other gear you may require on the airsoft field or tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft organizations use communications and radios devices in the field. Running a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
