About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The LBX TACTICAL Radio Pouch Wolf Grey is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop style attachments. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last few years due to tactical innovations and inventions. They are the top choice for securing military design pouches to equipment, vests, deployment bags, and other types of military equipment. MOLLE straps provide a flexible way for users to pick the mounting location and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location. The only constraint becomes which pouches to manage and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are used in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the 3 parts of the mounting system: MOLLE panels, pouches, and straps. Installing tactical pouches is simple and fast. All players have to do is thread the straps and snap the buttons to set them in place. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how the system works, let’s take a look at some of the most functional MOLLE pouches you can attach to your airsoft gear beginning with airsoft gun mag pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in lots of different colors and camo patterns.

Kinds Of LBX TACTICAL MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty standard in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for extra security that is usually attached with Velcro. In addition to being offered from many tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are resilient and one of the most economical ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the standard mag pouches with a few modifications. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch style eliminates the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines. This enables silent access and increased speed while reloading weapons or accessing equipment. These mag pouches can come in single or triple magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most sophisticated type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and reloads faster than ever, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE straps so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The LBX TACTICAL brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use varying kinds of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cords or rubberized tension bands (depending on maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the tension straps securely hold the magazines so you do not need to think about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
LBX TACTICAL MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches can be found in similar styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which are available in the standard design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this long lasting Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most commonly found versions of pistol pouches. Many of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the exact same style.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch including both a rifle and handgun magazine. A pair of magazines are typically much better than one. This pouch proves this to be correct because it saves you money from having to buy a pair of pouches. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all six separately (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines). Never buy pouches one at a time when you can get them grouped.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) make an area for you to discard empty magazines and other things into during gunfights. Some dump pouches even have drawstring closure tops for additional security while moving on the run with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK is an acronym for individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players require when they need to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. A first aid kit should contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create room for carrying tools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field items. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else generally. Think of things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own special pouch), and other gear you might require on the airsoft field or tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft groups put to use communications and radios equipment on the field. Running a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and family band radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
