About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Gonex MOLLE Medical Pouch EMT First Aid Pouch Rip-Away IFAK Tactical Utility Pouch for Outdoor Activities Medical Supplies (Bag Only) is a tactical pouch. Many tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have just recently ended up being popular in the last few years due to tactical innovations and inventions. They are the top option for securing military design pouches to equipment, tactical vests, range bags, and other kinds of military equipment. MOLLE straps offer a flexible method for users to select the mounting location and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location. The only limitation becomes which pouches to utilize and where to put them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and describes the pouches, panels, and straps which are employed in the MOLLE equipment system. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out some of the most effective MOLLE pouches you can add to your airsoft gear starting with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in many different colors and camouflage patterns.
About the Gonex Brand
The Gonex brand is fairly well-known among airsoft players. They make really good quality airsoft pouches and other products. You can find information on the brand’s site if you have concerns about their airsoft gear or client service questions.
Types of Gonex MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are essential to carry on your gear for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other kinds of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty basic in style. They are one of the initial designs of pouches created to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is usually attached with Velcro. The flap might feature a plastic side-release buckle depending upon pouch style. In addition to being available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most budget-friendly ways to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the standard mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch design removes the flap leaving an open top to insert and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag access easier and reloads faster than before, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE connections so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The Gonex brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cords or rubberized bungee bands (depending on maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t need to think about losing the mag during quick motions, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Gonex MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches come in similar designs to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few standard pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most frequently found versions of handgun pouches. A lot of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same style.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over purchasing all 6 separately (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a mag retrieval pouches) make a spot for you to discard empty magazines and other things into quickly. These tactical pouches are generally carried in a rolled up position and secured by a snap or strap. The pouch can be rapidly unrolled to increase in size and hold empty magazines after you reload your rifle, extra airsoft BBs/shells, and other tactical gear while in the battlefield. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for added closure security while moving with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK is an acronym for individual first aid kit and consists of the medical gear airsoft players require when they need to patch up a gash or injury on the field. An emergency treatment pack should include the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make a place for carrying tools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field items. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else normally. Think of things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own separate pouch), and other gear you might require on the airsoft field or tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft groups manage radios and communications equipment on the field. Operating a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and family band radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
