MOLLE straps supply a flexible method for users to choose the mounting location and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE attachment panel area.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are adopted in the MOLLE equipment system. Here are the 3 parts of the installing system: MOLLE pouches, straps, and panels. Mounting tactical pouches is simple and fast. Merely thread the straps and snap the buttons to secure them in place. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out a few of the best MOLLE pouches you can add to your airsoft gear starting with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in lots of different colors and camouflage patterns.
About the Frienda Brand
The Frienda brand is pretty well-known among airsoft players. They create fairly good quality airsoft pouches and other products. If you have concerns about their pouches or troubleshooting inquiries, you can find answers on the brand’s site.
Kinds Of Frienda MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ since they are quite standard in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for extra security that is generally attached with Velcro. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most budget friendly methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the standard mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch design gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to place and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most innovative type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag access easier and reloads faster than before, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The Frienda brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use varying kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized tension bands (depending upon maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you don’t need to think about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Frienda MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches are available in similar styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which are available in the standard design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most frequently found versions of handgun pouches. A number of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the exact same design. This consists of manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch designs are exceptional quality, usable, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch including both a rifle and pistol magazine. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all six individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a mag retrieval pouches) create a spot for you to place empty mags and other gear into quickly in the field. These tactical pouches are typically carried in a rolled up position and secured by a button or strap. The pouch can be rapidly unrolled to increase in size and hold empty mags after you reload your rifle, additional airsoft BBs/shells, and other tactical gear while in the battlefield. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for extra security while moving with a pouch that is full.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK stands for individual first aid kit and consists of the medical gear airsoft players require when they need to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. An emergency treatment kit must include the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create room for carrying a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field gear. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else usually. You can carry things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own separate pouch), and other equipment you might need on the airsoft field or tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Many airsoft groups put to use radios and communications devices on the field. Using a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
