About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The FARMSOLDIER Tactical Drop Pouch with Hook and Loop,Sub Abdominal Carrying Kit Bag Tool Pouch for Airsoft JPC CPC AVS Tactical Vest Chest Rig is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design accessories. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last few years due to tactical developments and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top choice for securing military style pouches to equipment, airsoft vests, range bags, and other types of equipment. MOLLE straps provide a unique method for users to choose the mounting place and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE attachment panel area. The only limitation becomes which pouches to manage and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym meaning Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are utilized in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the 3 parts of the mounting system: MOLLE panels, pouches, and straps. Mounting tactical pouches is fast and easy. Just thread the straps and snap the buttons to set them in place. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how the gear system works, let’s take a look at a few of the best MOLLE pouches you can include in your airsoft gear starting with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches can be found in all colors and camouflage patterns. Typical pouch colors consist of: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Common pouch camouflage patterns consist of: forest, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Check out the example swatches below for what they look like:
About the FARMSOLDIER Brand
The FARMSOLDIER brand is fairly widely known among airsoft players. They create great quality airsoft pouches and other gear. If you have questions about their tactical gear or customer service inquiries, you can find answers on the brand’s site.
Types of FARMSOLDIER MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are important to have on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘standard’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty standard in design. They are among the initial styles of pouches developed to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is usually secured with Velcro. The flap might feature a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch style. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and among the most budget-friendly methods to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the basic mag pouches with a couple of adjustments. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch design eliminates the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most innovative type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are built into the magazine pocket so that it holds the magazine securely under pressure. In order to make mag access easier and mag reloads faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch components are typically made of ABS materials.
The FARMSOLDIER brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag design use differing kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending upon maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps securely hold the magazines so you don’t have to be concerned about losing the mag during fast motions, crawling, climbing over things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
FARMSOLDIER MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches can be found in similar styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a couple of basic handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this durable Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most commonly seen variations of handgun pouches. A number of the same manufacturers that make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the exact same design. This consists of companies like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch styles are exceptional quality, usable, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch including both a rifle and handgun magazine. Two is generally much better than one. This pouch proves this to be true considering that it saves you money from having to buy two separate pouches. For instance, the cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all 6 separately (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never ever purchase pouches one at a time which you can get them as a group.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) make a space for you to dump empty mags and other gear into quickly. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for additional security while moving with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK represents individual first aid kit and consists of the equipment airsoft players need when they have to patch up a gash or injury on the field. A first aid kit must contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, a number of sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create a place for carrying tools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field supplies. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else usually. You can carry things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own separate pouch), and other equipment you might require on the airsoft field or in a tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft units put to use communications and radios devices on the field. Adopting a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and family band radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
