About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The NEW SUSTAINMENT POUCH CIF USMC Molle Coyote FILBE is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have just recently ended up being popular in the last few years due to tactical innovations and inventions. They are the top choice for securing military design pouches to military gear, vests, range bags, and other types of field gear. MOLLE straps provide a unique method for users to choose the mounting area and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location. The only limitation becomes which pouches to adopt and where to put them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and identifies the pouches, panels, and straps which are managed in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out some of the top MOLLE pouches you can add to your airsoft equipment starting with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.

Kinds Of Eagle Industries MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are important to have on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft gun rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘standard’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty basic in design. They are one of the initial designs of pouches designed to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is normally fastened with Velcro. The flap could include a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch design. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most cost effective ways to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the basic mag pouches with a couple of modifications. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch style gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to put in and extract magazines. This enables silent access and increased speed while reloading guns or accessing gear. These mag pouches can be available in triple or single magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most sophisticated type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are built into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine tightly under pressure. In order to make mag access easier and magazine reloads faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE attachments so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch parts are usually made of ABS materials.
The Eagle Industries brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending on producer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t need to think about losing the mag during fast motions, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Eagle Industries MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches are available in related styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which can be found in the standard design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several standard pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most frequently seen variations of handgun pouches. Many of the same companies that make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the same design. This includes companies like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch styles are excellent quality, functional, and are reproduced by airsoft pouch companies.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all six individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a mag retrieval pouches) create a spot for you to place empty mags and other things into quickly in the field. These tactical pouches are generally carried on your belt in a rolled up position and secured by a snap or strap. The pouch can be quickly unrolled to increase in size and hold empty magazines after reloads, additional airsoft BBs/shells, and other gear while on the field. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for extra closure security while moving with a pouch full of empty mags.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK means individual first aid kit and includes the equipment airsoft players need when they have to patch up a scrape or wound on the field. A first aid pack should contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, a number of sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make a place for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, and other field items. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else normally. Think of things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own separate pouch), and other equipment you might need on the airsoft field or in a tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft teams use radios and communications devices in the field. Applying a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
