About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Medical Shears Pouch, Durable Military Medical Shears Pouch Bag Holder MOLLE Hand Tools Pouch for Medical Rescue First Aid is a tactical pouch. The majority of tactical pouches connect with MOLLE snap straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE straps provide a versatile way for users to pick the installation place and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE accessory panel area.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE means Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are adopted in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the three parts of the installing system: MOLLE pouches, straps, and panels. Mounting tactical pouches is simple and quick. All operators have to do is thread the straps and snap the buttons to secure them in place. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s take a look at some of the best MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft equipment starting with airsoft gun mag pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches can be found in all colors and camouflage patterns. Common pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Typical pouch camouflage patterns consist of: forest, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Check out the example swatches below for what they look like:
About the Dilwe Brand
The Dilwe brand is fairly popular among airsoft players. They create pretty good quality airsoft equipment and other products. If you have concerns about their tactical pouches or customer service inquiries, you can find additional information on the brand’s site.
Kinds Of Dilwe MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are essential to carry on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other kinds of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are also called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty standard in design. They are among the initial designs of pouches created to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is normally secured with Velcro. The flap could feature a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch style. In addition to being offered from many tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most affordable ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches resemble the basic mag pouches with a couple of adjustments. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch style removes the flap leaving an open top to insert and extract magazines. This allows for quiet access and increased speed while reloading weapons or accessing equipment. These mag pouches can come in single or triple magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most innovative type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are built into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine securely under pressure. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and magazine changes faster than ever before, this style of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch components are usually made from ABS construction.
The Dilwe brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag design use varying kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized bungee bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps safely hold the magazines so you do not have to worry about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Dilwe MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches come in related styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which are available in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few standard pistol pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines very well with this resilient Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most frequently chosen versions of pistol pouches. Many of the same manufacturers that make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the exact same design. This includes manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch styles are excellent quality, usable, and are duplicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all 6 separately (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a clip recovery pouches) make a space for you to place empty magazines and other gear into rapidly. These tactical pouches are generally held in a rolled up position and secured by a button or strap. The pouch can be quickly unrolled to expand in size and hold empty mags after you reload your airsoft rifle, extra airsoft BBs/shells, and other tactical gear while in the field. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for extra security while moving with a pouch that is full.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK stands for individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players require when they have to patch up a cut or wound on the field. A first aid kit must contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make room for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, and other field gear. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else normally. Think spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own separate pouch), and other equipment you might require on the airsoft field or in a tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Many airsoft units carry radios and communications devices in the field. Running a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
