What is MOLLE?

Types of Dhana Style MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty basic in style. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is generally secured with Velcro. In addition to being available from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are resilient and one of the most economical methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouch types are similar to the standard mag pouches with a couple of enhancements. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch style removes the flap leaving an open top to place and take out magazines. This allows for quiet access and increased speed while reloading weapons or accessing pouches. These mag pouches can be available in triple or single magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most sophisticated type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are developed into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine firmly under tension. In order to make mag access easier and reloads faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE accessories so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch elements are generally made of ABS materials.
The Dhana Style brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use differing kinds of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you do not have to think about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing over things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Dhana Style MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches can be found in similar designs to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this durable Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most commonly used variations of handgun pouches. Many of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the same style.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch including both a rifle and handgun magazine. Two is typically better than one. This pouch proves this to be accurate because it saves you money from having to purchase two pouches. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all 6 separately (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never buy pouches individually which you can get them grouped.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) create a space for you to throw empty magazines and other things into rapidly. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for additional security while on the run with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK is an acronym for individual first aid kit and includes the equipment airsoft players need when they need to patch up a cut or injury on the field. A first aid kit should contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make room for carrying a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, and other field items. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else generally. Think extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own specific pouch), and other gear you might need on the airsoft field or tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Lots of airsoft groups use radios and communications equipment in the field. Operating a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
