About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Barbarians Tactical MOLLE Utility Pouch Compact Horizontal, EDC Multi-Purpose Admin Pouch Bag is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design accessories. MOLLE straps supply a versatile way for users to select the mounting area and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE accessory panel location.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and identifies the pouches, panels, and straps which are employed in the MOLLE equipment system. Here are the 3 parts of the mounting system: MOLLE pouches, panels, and straps. Installing tactical pouches is easy and fast. All airsoft players have to do is thread the straps and snap the buttons to set them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how the attachment system works, let’s have a look at a few of the most efficient MOLLE pouches you can attach to your airsoft equipment beginning with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in many different colors and camouflage patterns.

Kinds Of Barbarians MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are usually called ‘standard’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are quite basic in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for extra security that is usually secured with Velcro. In addition to being readily available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are long lasting and one of the most inexpensive methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouch types are similar to the basic mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch style gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines. This allows for quiet access and increased speed while reloading guns or accessing equipment. These mag pouches can be available in triple or single magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most sophisticated type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility a lot easier and reloads faster than ever, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE attachments so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The Barbarians brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag design use varying kinds of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cords or rubberized bungee bands (depending on manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the tension straps safely hold the magazines so you do not need to worry about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Barbarians MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches come in similar styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a number of standard pistol pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines very well with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most commonly found variations of handgun pouches. A number of the same companies that make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the exact same style. This includes companies like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch styles are exceptional quality, usable, and are duplicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch including both a rifle and pistol magazine. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all 6 independently (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) make a spot for you to ditch empty magazines and other things into during gunfights. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for additional security while moving with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK is an acronym for individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players need when they need to patch up a gash or injury on the field. A first aid kit must contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make room for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, and other field gear. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else normally. You can carry things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own special pouch), and other equipment you may require on the airsoft field or in a tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Lots of airsoft groups talk on radios and communications equipment in the field. Adopting a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
