About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The UNCLEGEAR Tactical Mag Pouch Open Top Magazine Holder Military Molle Pistol Mag Holster Mag Carrier is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last several years due to tactical innovations and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top option for securing military style pouches to military gear, airsoft vests, range bags, and other kinds of military equipment. MOLLE straps offer a flexible way for users to select the mounting area and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE accessory panel location. The only constraint ends up being which pouches to utilize and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are utilized in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the 3 parts of the mounting system: MOLLE panels, pouches, and straps. Mounting tactical pouches is simple and fast. All airsoft players have to do is thread the straps and snap the buttons to secure them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how the attachment system works, let’s have a look at some of the best MOLLE pouches you can attach to your airsoft gear beginning with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in all colors and camo patterns. Typical pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Typical pouch camouflage patterns include: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Take a look at the example swatches below for what they look like:

Types of UNCLEGEAR MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are necessary to have on your gear for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty standard in design. They are one of the initial designs of pouches created to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is normally fastened with Velcro. The flap could feature a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch design. In addition to being available from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most cost effective methods to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the basic mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch style eliminates the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most innovative kind of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are developed into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine tightly under pressure. In order to make mag accessibility easier and mag swaps faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE attachments so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch elements are typically made from ABS materials.
The UNCLEGEAR brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized bungee bands (depending on manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the tension straps safely hold the magazines so you don’t have to worry about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing up things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
UNCLEGEAR MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches are available in similar designs to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which come in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a number of basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most typically found versions of handgun pouches. Many of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the same design.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. A pair of mags are usually much better than one. This pouch proves this to be correct considering that it saves you money from needing to buy two pouches. For instance, the expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all six individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never ever buy pouches one at a time which you can get them grouped.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a mag recovery pouches) make a spot for you to throw empty mags and other things into quickly. These tactical pouches are normally carried in a rolled up position and secured by a button or strap. The pouch can be rapidly unrolled to expand in size and hold empty magazines after you reload your airsoft rifle, additional airsoft BBs/shells, and other gear while in the airsoft field. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for added security while moving with a pouch that is full.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK is an acronym meaning individual first aid kit and contains the medical gear airsoft players require when they need to patch up a cut or wound on the field. A first aid kit must contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, a number of sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make a place for holding a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, and other field gear. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else usually. Think extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own specific pouch), and other equipment you may require on the airsoft field or in a tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft units manage radios and communications devices in the field. Using a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
