About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Tactical Molle Bag Belt Pouch Camping Hiking Cloth Phone Camera Case Holster Security Waist Pouch Waterproof Purse Phone Case with Zipper for iPhone 5S 6 7 6S X Plus and More is a tactical pouch. Many tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have just recently ended up being popular in the last few years due to tactical innovations and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top choice for securing military style pouches to military gear, vests, deployment bags, and other kinds of equipment. MOLLE straps offer a flexible method for users to pick the mounting area and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE accessory panel area. The only restriction becomes which pouches to put to use and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are put to use in the MOLLE equipment system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s look at some of the top MOLLE pouches you can add to your airsoft gear beginning with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches are available in all colors and camo patterns. Common pouch colors consist of: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Typical pouch camouflage patterns consist of: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Check out the example swatches in the product description for what they appear like:
About the Yarr Brand
The Yarr brand is pretty highly-rated among airsoft players. They manufacture fairly good quality airsoft pouches and other gear. If you have questions about their tactical gear or customer support inquiries, you can find answers on the brand’s site.
Kinds Of Yarr MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are important to carry on your gear for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ since they are pretty basic in style. They are among the initial designs of pouches created to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is generally fastened with Velcro. The flap might feature a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch design. In addition to being available from many tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and among the most inexpensive ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the basic mag pouches with a couple of modifications. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch style eliminates the flap leaving an open top to insert and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most innovative type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag access easier and magazine swaps faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE attachments so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The Yarr brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use varying types of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending on maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you do not have to worry about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Yarr MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches are available in similar designs to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which are available in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this durable Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most frequently found versions of handgun pouches. Many of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the exact same design. This includes companies like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch designs are excellent quality, functional, and are reproduced by airsoft pouch companies.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. Two is typically much better than one. This pouch shows this to be true since it saves you money from having to purchase a pair of pouches. For example, the cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all six individually (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines). Never purchase pouches one at a time which you can get them as a group.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) make a space for you to discard empty magazines and other gear into rapidly. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for extra security while moving on the run with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK is an acronym meaning individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players require when they need to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. An emergency treatment pack should include the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, a number of sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make room for holding tools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field supplies. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else usually. You can carry things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own special pouch), and other equipment you may need on the airsoft field or in a tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft teams work with radios and communications equipment in the field. Running a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and family band radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
