Airsoft Gun Mags Info
These magazines generally connect to the airsoft gun the same as the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Magazine Types
Airsoft gun magazines come in several types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would store, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Information
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. The BBs are usually packed into these channels with a spring attached to the extremely far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring creating stress. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. CO2, HPA, and GBB guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will typically store the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
About Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Learn about how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s mag well.
Did You Know?
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad automatic weapons like SAWs use very large capacity magazines. They can store up to 1000s of BBs and provide fire support for a squad or fireteam during battlefield engagements.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by weapon model and functional between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to work in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG mags are developed to be cross-compatible. These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom style depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to operate so the magazines often come with builtin gas reservoirs or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB weapons keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and permit the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Information on Airsoft Handgun Mags
When compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles, Airsoft pistol mags are frequently less flexible. Pistols mags differ by type and often use CO2 or green gas (propane) stored in the magazine. The magazine is inserted into the handgun’s grip like the basic firearm style. Handgun mags are typically interchangeable between comparable designs of the exact same airsoft weapon manufacturer, but are frequently not cross-brand suitable unless they are particularly created for that function. Learning about the various types of airsoft handguns can give you more insight to how their pistol mags differ. A lot of airsoft handgun mags keep around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
