Airsoft Pistol Product Features
This is a CO2 powered Airsoft Pistol which means that it uses CO2 Gas as a propellant. It shoots hard and fast and is extremely lifelike. One feature many CO2 Airsoft Guns have is blowback, meaning that as the BB is propelled forward the slide thrusts backward mimicking the kick of a real gun! This CO2 Airsoft Pistol doesn’t require any pumping just simply point and shoot. This is a high end CO2 Airsoft gun. Please only use .20 gram high quality BBs with this item in order to keep it in working order. Using anything else as ammunition for this gun will void the warranty and may cause it to jam. You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase this Airsoft gun. You will need to purchase CO2 for this gun separately.
Information on Airsoft Pistol Types
Find out about airsoft sidearms, pistols, and handguns and how you can use them as backup weapons or as main weapons on the airsoft playing field. Getting the ideal handgun and practicing with it can make an impact in the accuracy of your shots. Pistols, by nature, are shorter range airsoft guns. They are normally manufactured after firearm pistols or replicas of legitimate pistols. A lot of airsoft pistols are fully licensed versions of their actual pistol equivalents. These airsoft guns can function in the same ways and visually look identical to the real guns they are modeled around while firing airsoft BBs as opposed to authentic bullets.
There are a variety of airsoft pistols such as CO2, propane or green gas (blowback and non-blowback), spring powered, and AEG automatic electric gun pistols. Each of these varieties of sidearms have negatives and positives related to them. Learning more about the varieties of airsoft pistols allows you to figure out which type is right for you and your airsoft gameplay style.
Details About CO2 Airsoft Pistols
CO2 airsoft guns are one of the most popular and resilient types of sidearms. These pistols use sealed CO2 gas cylinders to move airsoft BBs out of the handgun barrel.
These kinds of airsoft guns are great choices for playing in cold and snowy temperatures because the compressed CO2 gas is stored in the sealed cylinders and less sensitive to variation by low temperature. This offers great FPS and shot consistency while playing airsoft in the winter season for example where other sorts of airsoft guns like green gas stuffer from low performance or hardly fire airsoft BBs.
About CO2 Gas and CO2 Cylinders
CO2 airsoft handguns are powered by regular 12 gram CO2 cartridge cylinders. These cartridges look similar to a metal cylinder and hold high-pressure CO2 gas comprised of 1 carbon atom and a pair of oxygen atoms, and so the molecular formula is “C + O2 “. These atoms are bonded in the following sequence “O= C =O”. The gas is held in the 12 gram cartridges under extremely high pressure of near ~ 800psi which correlates to 55bar.
The cartridges come sealed to keep the CO2 gas securely inside, but soon after they are opened (firing them in an airsoft weapon breaks the cartridge seal) they will begin to lose pressure if they are left unused. If the airsoft games end and you still have CO2 gas left, use the opportunity to do some handgun target practice and use up the rest of the remaining gas.
CO2 cartridges can be stored for a longtime if the cylinders are stored sealed. They have a maker’s expiry date normally noted on the box or cartridge, but they may maintain pressure for a prolonged time past this date if the cartridge seal is not broken.
Info About Green Gas Airsoft Pistols
Green gas airsoft sidearms are similar to CO2 guns, but they do not use CO2 cartridges. Instead, they use green gas or propane gas for propellant to fire 6mm airsoft BBs. The effect on game play and green gas sidearm efficiency is basically the same as CO2 pistols with the guns shooting up to about 300+ feet per second. Shots are efficiently fired in semi-automatic or fully-automatic firing modes and can accurately hit targets at short to mid-range ranges.
The propane gas is stored in the handgun’s airsoft magazine which can typically hold between 15 to 20+ BBs based on the pistol design. A series of valves, rubber gaskets, and seals keep the gas stored in the magazine until the pistol’s trigger is squeezed.
When playing with a green gas sidearm on the airsoft field or arena as a secondary or primary gun, additional handgun mags are suggested for quickly reloading and engaging the op force. Having extra mags on-hand allows you to get back in the action in the course of firefights or while clearing structures in CQB (close quarters combat) room-to-room fights.
Green gas pistols are great for CQB at airsoft fields since rifles and full-sized AEGs are usually not allowed to be used during indoor game play. This is an essential safety guideline due to the close range proximity of airsoft players during the shooting engagements and potential for players to get hurt. While green gas handguns still shoot airsoft BBs at about 300 FPS, the short handgun barrel assists to keep the joules and energy shooting the BB at a lower level compared to AEGs, airsoft rifles, sniper rifles, and other long guns.
About Green Gas Blowback (GBB) VS Green Gas Non-blowback
There are 2 various varieties of green gas airsoft pistols. There are green gas blowback pistols or GBBs. These guns work like an actual pistol with the slide “blowing back” and moving with every shot. The propane gas causes the slide to cycle when a new airsoft BB is loaded into the chamber. The result is extremely cool, but the GBB weapons usually are more expensive and potentially have more to break. The green gas non-blowback airsoft pistols have a stationary slide which does not move. The non-blowback weapons generally cost less than GBBs. Efficiency is about the same between the two kinds of green gas pistols.
About GBB and Green Gas Issues
Since the green gas or propane is housed in the pistol magazine by rubber seals and silicone gaskets, cold temperatures can influence these o-rings and cause the stored gas to escape before shooting. This lack of pressure can cause the airsoft BBs to only shoot a number of feet away (like 10 feet in the cold ) when the handgun would normally shoot BBs over 100+ foot distances in warmer temperatures).
One option to this problem is to make the GBB pistol magazines warmer by positioning them next to your body or near a heat source just before game play. If you really desire to play with a trustworthy airsoft pistol in the cold, it may additionally be worth getting a CO2 variation of your favorite handgun.
Spring Airsoft Pistols
Spring airsoft sidearms are powered by powerful springs that fire the BBs out of the pistol barrel. They are normally able to only shoot one BB. The manual actions of reloading, firing, and cocking spring pistols makes the weapon’s fire rate much slower than CO2, green gas, and GBB pistols. This makes spring guns entertaining to use, but they are usually less useful when shooting at competitors on the airsoft field with fully auto airsoft AEG rifles and CO2 or GBB airsoft pistols.
Spring guns perform best in springer battles where airsoft players can just use comparable, single shot spring pistols or as a close quarters combat weapon for CQB environments when you can often quietly sneak up on other airsoft participants to get an assured one-shot-one-kill. In the latter situation, a rapid second followup shot isn’t called for considering that the other person is now struck and out of the game or running back to respawn. When engaging many different foes since the gun only shoots as fast as you can re-chamber an airsoft BB by hand, be careful.
About Spring Handgun Performance
Spring pistols are quite reliable under the most ideal conditions. Spring pistols can typically fire up to 120 feet or more with 0.12g BBs however the ability to hit targets reduces rapidly.
AEG Automatic Electric Airsoft Pistol Info
AEG airsoft sidearms or AEPs (automatic electric pistols) are definitely an option to carry as a secondary gun on the airsoft field. These automatic electric pistols are normally powered by mini stick batteries in the weapon’s butt. They operate similar to an AEG gun and use compressed air with electrically cycled gearboxes, pistons, and cylinders to propel airsoft BBs quickly and rapidly.
AEG handgun mags generally can carry about 20 to 30 airsoft BBs. The pistols can shoot airsoft BBs right up to about 300 FPS with 0.12g airsoft BBs or 200 to 250 FPS using 0.20 gram airsoft BBs. The electric battery powered gearbox system can shoot around 700+ 6mm BBs per minute which depends if you have enough spare magazines to maintain the ammo supply and the battery maintains its charge that long. These AEP pistols can efficiently fire airsoft BBs at around 150 foot distances.
AEG Handgun Quality and Efficiency
AEG pistol quality has actually risen considerably in the last few years. The earliest gens were a bit unreliable and questionable, but the more recent versions have the deficiencies resolved and make efficient airsoft secondary guns. They can be further modified with enhanced mag storage capacities together with accommodating bigger batteries.
A significant advantage of using an AEG pistol is that you have the capability to rewire the battery connections to use a bigger battery. Depending on the AEG pistol model, you can get a large increase in functionality by employing a 2 cell Lipo battery (2S Lipo) as an alternative for the stock battery.
Which Airsoft Sidearm is Right for Me to Play with?
If you have more than one-hundred dollars to spend on your airsoft pistol, you may want to consider a green gas blowback handgun or AEG handgun. If you have between $50 to $100 to shell out, check out a good quality CO2 pistol or more affordable GBB handgun. You can still look for a durable airsoft pistol by checking out lower end pistols and by shopping for used pistols if you need to save money.
