About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The ArcEnCiel Molle Water Bottle Pouch Tactical Military Kettle Set Holder Hydration Bag Carrier Pocket for Camping Climbing Cycling Hiking Travelling is a tactical pouch. Many tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop style accessories. MOLLE pouches have just recently ended up being popular in the last few years due to tactical innovations and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top option for securing military style pouches to military gear, airsoft vests, deployment bags, and other kinds of equipment. MOLLE straps offer a unique way for users to select the mounting place and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE attachment panel area. The only constraint ends up being which pouches to put to use and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and describes the pouches, panels, and straps which are put to use in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s look at some of the best MOLLE pouches you can include in your airsoft gear starting with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in all colors and camouflage patterns. Common pouch colors consist of: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Typical pouch camouflage patterns include: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Take a look at the example swatches below for what they appear like:

Kinds Of ArcEnCiel MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are essential to have on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other kinds of airsoft gun rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ since they are pretty standard in design. They are among the initial styles of pouches developed to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is normally attached with Velcro. The flap could feature a plastic side-release buckle depending upon pouch style. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and among the most budget friendly ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the basic mag pouches with a couple of adjustments. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch style removes the flap leaving an open top to place and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most sophisticated type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are developed into the magazine pocket so that it holds the magazine tightly under stretchy bungees. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and reloads faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch parts are typically made from ABS components.
The ArcEnCiel brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use differing kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cords or rubberized stress bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you don’t need to be concerned about losing the mag during quick motions, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
ArcEnCiel MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Handgun Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches come in similar styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which come in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a couple of standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this resilient Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most commonly seen versions of handgun pouches. A number of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the exact same style. This consists of manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch designs are excellent quality, usable, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch including both a rifle and pistol magazine. A pair of mags are typically much better than one. This pouch shows this to be true given that it saves you money from having to buy two pouches. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all six separately (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines). Never purchase pouches individually which you can get them together.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) create an area for you to discard empty magazines and other gear into during fights. Some dump pouches even have drawstring closure tops for extra security while moving with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK stands for individual first aid kit and contains the medical gear airsoft players need when they need to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. A first aid kit should include the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make room for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field items. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else usually. Think of things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own separate pouch), and other gear you might require on the airsoft field or tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft groups use communications and radios equipment on the field. Running a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and family band radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
