This can include airsoft, but there are a few things you should know.
If you are reading this, that means you are probably interested in writing about airsoft guns, fields, games types and other related things. Here are a few Do's and Don'ts that will help you along the way.
What NOT To Talk About In Airsoft Essays
We know we all like playing airsoft because of the cool airsoft guns, shooting other airsoft players with plastic airsoft BBs (who are wearing protective goggles, masks, and gear), and having a great time. However, some of these topics are not really acceptable for educational or school settings. Let's about about why.
Don't Write Papers About: Airsoft Guns
You should not write about airsoft guns in your essay. I know you like airsoft guns, talking about your favorite airsoft gun, and telling your friends about the airsoft gun you want to buy next, but writing about your favorite airsoft guns in your paper is not the place. This is because your paper is most likely for a school or other educational institute. Airsoft guns and schools do NOT mix. It's a safety issue.
Don't Write Papers About: Shooting People with Airsoft Guns
You should not write papers or essays about shooting people or other players with airsoft guns. This includes focusing on "killing" airsoft players while playing either. If you have to explain what airsoft is, just say "Airsoft is a team sport like paintball." They will hopefully understand what this means.
Don't Bring Your Airsoft Gun to School
This probably doesn't even need to be mentioned, but it goes with the first "Don't" point above. Don't bring your airsoft gun to school. Just don't do it. It will not turn out good and goes back to safety.
The bottom line is do not write essays or papers about things which are not appropriate for school. Let's talk about the airsoft paper and essay "Do's" next.
What To Talk About In Airsoft Essays
Let's talk about the good things we want to share about airsoft. These are great things to include in your airsoft paper because they are interesting topics. Some people may not know what airsoft is. You can help them understand what the game is and how to play airsoft.
Do Write Papers About: What Airsoft Is
You should include a description of what airsoft is in your paper. You can explain that airsoft is a team sport like paintball involving several teams of airsoft players. It is competitive, and players complete for different types of objectives on the airsoft field.
Do Write Papers About: Airsoft Safety
Safety is very important in airsoft. You can explain this to people by describing the equipment that keeps you safe while playing airsoft including: airsoft goggles, masks, and other protective gear and equipment. You can also explain the safety rules like "goggles on", "goggles off", "blind man" (no goggles), "end ex" (or end exercise), "hit" (when you are hit with an airsoft BB), red rags, and other game terms which help to keep airsoft players safe.
Do Write Papers About: Airsoft Game Types
Writing about the different types of airsoft games is a great way to develop content for your airsoft essay or paper. There is a ton to cover here with so many game types available and more being made all the time. Common airsoft games include: capture the flag, defend the base, limited re-spawns, unending horde (where only one team has re-spawns), team death match, last man standing, "British" reenactments, and many others. Note: You might not want to talk about diffusing bombs in school.
That's a general summary of the "Do's" so lets talk about how to write a high quality essay and paper next.
Airsoft Essay Writing Tips For Creative Writing
Essays are a common topic in school. You will have to write hundreds of them over the course of your education. Airsoft can be a great topic for an essay. You probably already know a lot about what essays are and how to write them, but we will talk about the basics just for a moment.
Parts of An Essay
An essay has three basic parts. It can be as simple or as complex as you write it. The basic parts are:
- Introduction
- Body
- Conclusion
Writing Papers with a "Hamburger" Writing Method
This is best explained as a "hamburger" (often called the hamburger method). The essay's introduction is the top bun. The essay's body and supporting sentences which explain the introduction are the meat, lettuce, and tomatoes. Finally, the conclusion is the bottom bun. The hamburger makes the completed essay. This method is very effective to use while writing articles about airsoft for school.
The Essay Introduction and Thesis Statement
The introduction is the part of the essay where you set the stage for the rest of the paper. To start this, first understand your creative writing assignment. Include general information on the topic, explain the main ideas you will be covering in the essay, and use a hook to draw the readers in.
The Hook Writing Method
Using a hook to start off your essay grabs the attention of the readers. A hook is located at the very first part of the paper. It draws readers into the paper and makes them want to learn more. An example hook for an creative writing paper about airsoft could be something like the following sentences.
Example Airsoft Essay Hook:
"It was a misty Saturday morning with shrouds of fog floating through the valley. It checked my gear once, twice, and three times. I felt ready and could feel the anticipation building as my team tensely paced around the starting area. In the distance, faint voice was heard, 'Gameee Onnn!' It was time to go, and we sprinted into the trees as fast as we could! We were playing airsoft!"
That hook sentence then leads into the rest of the essay about airsoft. Next, I can explain what airsoft is, talk about the gear, highlight a situation where my team and I used teamwork to win the game, or any other topic I think of and want to write about.
Writing the Intro Paragraph and Thesis Statement
After that hook, I can write about the idea I want to talk about in the paper and help readers understand what airsoft is. Here is an example of a few introduction sentences and a thesis statement that follows the hook above.
Airsoft Essay Intro and Thesis Example:
"Airsoft is a sport much like paintball where teams of players play against each and try to complete objectives. The games are action packed and exciting! Airsoft is a great way to spend time building teamwork, having fun with friends, and enjoying the outdoors."
Notice the order of the underlined items in the last thesis sentence above. That is the order I need to talk about the ideas in the next supporting paragraphs.
- Building teamwork through airsoft
- Having fun playing airsoft with friends
- Enjoying the outdoors while playing airsoft
The Essay Body and Supporting Sentences
The essay body and supporting sentences come after the introduction. These sentences are usually grouped into body paragraphs. These paragraphs include information and details about the topics of the paper. They should be organized by topic.
The Supporting Body Paragraphs
The supporting body paragraphs of the paper are almost mini "hamburgers" or papers in themselves. They follow the same flow in a manner like this:
- Intro supporting statement idea
- Follow-up details or information
- Summary to clarify information
- Optional lead into next paragraph topic
Here is an example supporting paragraph about building teamwork by playing airsoft: (This is the first topic I need to talk about since it was listed first in my thesis statement.)
"Airsoft is a great way to building teamwork. This is because it is a competitive game. Each airsoft game as an objective and the players must work with their team members to complete the objective. Depending on the airsoft game, the objectives can range from capturing the flag, to defend the base, to team death match or last man standing. You win the most airsoft games by using teamwork. This also lets you have more fun with your friends.
Playing airsoft is more fun when you play with your friends..." (The rest of the next paragraph about friends would continue here.)
In the example above, notice how the last sentence of the first paragraph about teamwork acts as a lead in for the next paragraph about friends and airsoft. This is a good way to use transitions when writing your essay or paper about airsoft.
The Essay Conclusion and Wrapping Up The Paper
The essay conclusion comes last in the essay. This part of the paper contains a summary of what you talked about in the paper and brings up the major points again. You can only talk about things you have already written about. You should NOT talk about ANY NEW IDEAS in the conclusion. New ideas need to be added to the thesis and talked about in the supporting paragraphs. An example conclusion for my paper on airsoft would be something like the following sentences.
Airsoft Paper Example Conclusion:
"Airsoft is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday in the outdoors. The excitement never gets old even after playing for hours with my friends. I enjoy all of the fun times and experiences we share playing airsoft. Our teamwork gets better every time we play, and we are winning more games every weekend. I hope to see you out there sometime on the airsoft field. Be sure to wear your protective gear, and happy airsofting!"
Tip: Create A Good Paper Outline
Many people find it hard to write a paper or essay. There is a great tip you can use to make it easier. Start off by outlining your paper or essay's structure with a defined format. You can also use What, Where, When, Why, and How if it applies. Here is an example outline for a creative writing assignment about airsoft.

Tip: Proof Read and Spell Check
The final tip to writing a good airsoft paper or essay is to proof read and spell check. Look for how you are using the words. Is your word choice ok? Do the words mean what you meant to write? Is "were" used instead of "where"? How about "there" and "their"? Are you following the grammar rules of English or other language you are writing in? Does anything sound weird and need to be reworded? It is really hard to catch everything, but you can usually find most of the spelling errors, type-Os, and mistypes.
Have Someone Else Read The Final Essay Draft
One final way to check for error or problems it to get someone else to read your essay or paper. Sometimes, the words can make sense in your head the way you are reading them, but someone else will immediately noticed the words don't quite make sense. You can ask a friend, family member, teacher, or professor to proofread a paper for you. Ask them to mark any suggestions and changes with a red pencil or pen. Also, school libraries or student help centers will usually offer proofreading and writing assistance to help you turn your paper or essay into a polished work of creative writing art.
